Recently, the top 20 cases and outstanding cases for reform and innovation in the cultural tourism field in 2022-2023 were released.

Qingxi Village of Yiyang City was included in the national top 20 cases for exploring the “literature plus cultural tourism” model to inject new momentum into rural revitalization.

Changsha City and Shaoshan City were listed among national outstanding cases for activating nighttime culture and tourism consumption to boost the nighttime economy and innovating the Red education model to build Red tourism brands respectively.

Qingxi Village is known as a famous historical and cultural village in China and is the birthplace of Zhou Libo, a modern famous writer, whose novel “Great Changes to Mountain Areas” was set in Qingxi Village.

There is multi-dimensional development of Zhou Libo’s cultural IP, beautiful rural scenery, cultural and tourism industries such as agritainment, Lei Cha houses, and homestay inns, as well as modern new agriculture in the village.

In 2023, Qingxi Village received over 1.2 million tourists, with a tourism revenue of 12.2 million yuan and the village collective income of 1.2 million yuan, an increase of 40.3% and 20% year on year respectively. Great changes have taken place in Qingxi Village in modern times.

In recent years, Changsha City has been listed among the Top 10 Influential Cities in China for Development of Urban Nighttime Economy for three consecutive years, ranked ninth on the 2023 Forbes list of China’s Top 20 Cities for Consumer Vitality, and was shortlisted for the list of Top 10 Cities with the Most Active Nighttime Consumption in 2023. A number of new consumer brands, such as Modern China Tea Shop, Wenheyou, Zhadui, Heyhey Black, and Dim Sum Bureau of Momo, have emerged, making Changsha’s night economy prosperous.

In recent years, Shaoshan City has made efforts to explore new models of Red education. 12 themed routes and 47 on-site teaching centers have been launched. Besides, a comprehensive Red education service base and a public ideological and political classroom research base have been built.
