A press conference for the Third Changsha Tourism Development Conference and key cultural tourism activities during the upcoming National Day holiday was held on September 19. It announced that the Third Changsha Tourism Development Conference will take place in Tianxin District, Changsha City from September 25 to 26.

With the theme of "Happy Changsha, Welcoming Tianxin", the conference will adopt a "3+N" activity scheme. "3" refers to three main activities—the opening ceremony, a project observation tour, and a cultural tourism development and promotion conference. "N" means several supporting activities across the city during the conference.

The opening ceremony is composed of three chapters, striving to present a brilliant audio-visual feast with "Hunan connotations, Changsha characteristics, and Tianxin style". The project observation tour will highlight the history, revolutionary culture, and modern cultural resources of Tianxin District. Participants will observe projects including the pioneering zone of Xiwen Miaoping, oil factory renovation and Tianxin Pavilion night tours. During the cultural tourism development and promotion conference, a cultural tourism standard system on "tourist satisfaction in Changsha" will be released on a trial basis. The conference, with a focus on regional exchanges and cooperation, will feature business negotiations, project signing, and products exhibition and sales. Travel agents from central capital cities,  Gongga Longshan area, Hong Kong, Macao, and Southeast Asia will be invited to attend the conference.

During the conference, Changsha will hold a discussion on the development of cultural tourism consumption to explore the trend and direction of the integrated and innovative development of cultural tourism consumption. Other activities include a joint art exhibition featuring calligraphy on bamboo slips and silk; the 2024 Changsha Homestay Travel Festival and a conference marking the founding of the Changsha Tourism Homestay Association; a self-drive tour of Changsha; the unveiling ceremony of the Tongguan Kiln National Tourism Resort; the groundbreaking ceremony of the Hunan Museum Tongguan Kiln Hall; and, the Xiangjiang Munich Oktoberfest. Additionally, a variety of characteristic cultural tourism activities will be scheduled across the city.

The annual Changsha Tourism Development Conference has become an important platform for Changsha to enhance its image and boost the high-quality development of the cultural tourism industry. The effects of the previous two sessions have continued to expand. In the first half of this year, Changsha ranked among China's top ten popular tourist destinations for holiday travelers. The city saw more than 90 million visits made by tourists from home and abroad, a year-on-year increase of 15.99%. The city's total tourism revenue rose 18.71% from the same period last year to over 101 billion yuan, with the total amount and growth rate both ranking first among cities and prefecture within the province.
