Hunan's ports recorded 37,000 exit and entry trips during the National Day holiday from October 1 to 7, representing a year-on-year increase of 80.3%, according to the Hunan General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection on October 8. The number of inbound and outbound foreign visitors expanded 93.5%.
During the holiday, cross-border passenger flights handled at Changsha port were mainly bound for ten cities of seven countries such as Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Kenya, and the United Kingdom. 69% of the total inbound and outbound tourists were Chinese mainland travelers who headed for Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. The port experienced a travel peak on October 7, with exit-entry trips exceeding 4,100.
Meanwhile, cross-border passenger flights handled at Zhangjiajie port were mainly bound for 11 cities of five countries or regions such as South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and China's Hong Kong SAR. 96% of the total inbound and outbound tourists were foreigners who came from South Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand. The port saw a travel peak on October 2, with exit-entry trips reaching nearly 2,900.
To ensure safe and smooth customs clearance, the Hunan General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection has strictly implemented the requirements of making forecast of passenger flows in advance and giving travel reminders. Changsha and Zhangjiajie exit and entry frontier inspection stations carried out real-time monitoring of exit-entry passenger flow, increased working staff members, and added more customs clearance passages, so as to reduce Chinese citizens' clearance time to no more than 30 minutes and improve customs clearance efficiency for foreigners.
