SNAY Renewable Energy Joins WEF's Global Lighthouse Network

On October 8, the World Economic Forum (WEF) announced a new list of innovative manufacturers that have joined the Global Lighthouse Network. SNAY Renewable Energy Co., Ltd was included in the list, making it the only candidate in Hunan Province this year. The company is located in the Shaoshan High-tech Development Zone.

Lighthouse factories are known as "the most advanced factories in the world". Lighthouse factories are models of "digital manufacturing" and "globalization 4.0" jointly selected by the World Economic Forum in Davos and McKinsey Consulting. These factories represent the highest level of intelligent manufacturing and digitalization in the global manufacturing industry. 

Covering an area of more than 500 mu (about 33 ha.), SANY Renewable Energy has the largest single wind turbine blade production workshop in Asia. The company's production line measures nearly 600 meters, accommodating 12 sets of moulds for parallel production, and can produce 3,000 wind turbine blades per year. SANY Renewable Energy is the first intelligent factory in China's wind turbine blade industry.

In order to improve the efficiency of factory management and operational accuracy, SANY Renewable Energy has independently developed a digital platform, combining digital twin technology, human-machine interconnection technology, automation technology, and 5G communication technology to monitor the entire blade production process, process parameters, and technical indicators in real time. The factory uses automatic guided transport vehicles and robots, as well as laser guidance and camera-based visual guidance technology, enabling end-effector tools to automatically adjust postures, identify the shape of blades, and do profile modeling in the process of assembly, polishing, and coating. This helps increase the automation rate by 50% and the product quality by 30%.

According to a spokesperson at SANY Renewable Energy, the factory has made innovations in terms of workers, equipment, raw materials, technology, environmental protection. Work efficiency has been increased by 20% compared with conventional factories, and the average production period of a single 100-meter blade has been shortened from more than 40 hours to about 30 hours.
