The state-run 711 Mine, located in Xujiadong Town, Suxian District, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, was one of the earliest uranium mines developed in China and was closed in 2004. In recent years, Chenzhou City has made use of the remaining buildings in the mine and the calling cards of "key historical and cultural site under national-level protection" and "national industrial heritage", to create a "711" tourism program. The "711 Time Town" includes catering and accommodation, hot springs and recreation, science popularization and study tour, and leisure and vacation projects. The town now has become a local red or revolutionary tourism attraction, receiving 85,000 tourist trips during the 2024 National Day holiday.
