The launch ceremony of integration between Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan (CZT) Intercity Railway and Changsha subway ticket systems was held in Changsha on October 18. Zhou Haibing, vice governor of Hunan Province and mayor of Changsha City, attended the ceremony.

Since June 2023, with strong support and guidance from the China State Railway Group and the Changsha Municipal People's Government, the Hunan Rail Transit Holdings Group has initiated a transformation project through Hunan Intercity Railway Co., Ltd. This project aims to advance the phased mutual integration of ticket systems in collaboration with relevant units.

The first phase of the project, titled "Ride CZT intercity trains with the Changsha Metro App", has been officially opened at the launch ceremony. Citizens can activate the railway e-card service on the Changsha Metro App, and then they can swipe a QR code to take intercity trains. This service is the first of its kind in China. The second phase, titled "Take the Changsha subway with the railway e-card", is expected to be opened before the end of this year. By then, a complete two-way integration of the intercity rail and subway ticket systems will be realized. Meanwhile, the railway authority has launched some preferential policies for passengers who open the railway e-card service for the first time.

The formal integration of CZT intercity railway and Changsha subway ticket systems is an important measure to implement the Ministry of Transport's "14th Five-Year Development Plan for Comprehensive Transport Services" and Hunan Province's "Three-year Action Plan for CZT Integrated Development (2023-2025)", marking new progress in the integration of the province's trunk railways, intercity railways, regional railways, and urban railways. It is of great significance to improving the quality of passenger transport service and boosting CZT high-quality integrated development.
