The Crop Science Society of Hunan (CSSH) organized a ratoon rice yield monitoring in an unmanned field in Qianshanhong Town, Datonghu District, Yiyang on October 31. The monitoring results showed that, the ratoon rice yield in this test field reached 511 kg per mu (about 0.067 hectares) during the ratoon season. With the addition of the main-season yield of 754.28 kg per mu, the average yield of the ratoon rice amounted to 1,265.28 kg per mu. The unmanned ratoon rice test field in Datonghu District was established in 2023. It uses a smart agriculture platform to collect and analyze rice production data, making decisions about farming orders and executing them automatically. This is helpful to improve rice seedling growth in the ratoon season and increase output and quality of ratoon rice.
