The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. About 400 enterprises and more than 1,400 professional visitors from Changsha City will attend the CIIE, according to the city's bureau of commerce.

The number of Changsha enterprises and visitors signing up for this year's CIIE is at the forefront of the province. The Changsha delegation will increase the purchase of high-quality consumer goods to satisfy consumers' demand for a better quality of life. The items to be purchased will involve food and agricultural products, technical equipment, consumer goods, automobiles, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, service trade and other fields. Meanwhile, the Changsha delegation will aslo increase the import procurement of advanced equipment and key components to align with the new needs of industrial transformation and upgrading.

"Changsha elements" will continue to shine at the expo. Changsha-based milk powder provider Ausnutria, a frequent exhibitor at the CIIE, will launch new products at the expo. Yuhua District, as the only national import trade promotion and innovation demonstration zone in Hunan Province, will set up an exhibition pavilion at the CIIE for the first time. The pavilion will feature a permanent pavilion of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, an artificial intelligence and high-end equipment import center and a central import agricultural products trading and distribution center. Hunan embroidery, Hunan tea, Jiangyong Nvshu works (women's scripts) and other exhibits will also be showcased at the expo, facilitating Changsha's culture and products to better go global.

Germany is Changsha's largest trading partner in Europe. At this year's CIIE, Changsha will organize the Hunan-Germany Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting, aiming to share opportunities and seek cooperation with German entrepreneurs. Well-known German enterprises including Thyssenkrupp, SAP, ALBA and Schaeffler will be invited, and they will involve fields such as intelligent equipment, advanced materials, and digital technology. At the same time, Changsha will dispatch teams to attract investment and organize industrial chain promotion events during the expo.

This year, Changsha's "circle of friends" for import has been expanding, with its import value rising 12.1% year on year to 75.89 billion CNY in the first three quarters. Imports of high-tech products increased significantly, exceeding 30 billion CNY, up 35.9% year on year. The value of imported beef, mutton, cherries, canola oil, and alcoholic beverages grew by an average of 3.3 times to meet residents' consumption demand.
