The Shigu Academy located in Shigu District is a great place to enjoy autumn and soak up ancient academy culture. With a history of one thousand years, it carries profound cultural heritage of Hunan. In May of this year, the Shigu Square was renovated based on the principle of respecting history and retaining its original state. In the square, the new landmark memorial archway “Shigu Jiangshan” is particularly eye-catching. Besides, the antique cultural and leisure corridor, the sculptures of seven sages, and garden landscapes make the square more popular.“The square looks very spacious and beautiful,” said a local citizen. Many citizens exercise on the square in the afternoon of autumn, and it has become a new popular destination.

The Laiyan Tower, near the Shigu Academy, is a famous cultural landmark in Hengyang. It was built during the reign of Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty, with a simple and elegant appearance. In autumn, tourists climb to the top of the tower to admire and take photos of the beautiful natural scenery of Hengyang.
