The China-Laos Chuyi Academy, a brand project of Hunan Province aimed at promoting international cooperation of vocational education, recently opened in Vientiane, Laos, according to the Changsha Social Work College. The academy has enrolled its first batch of 45 Lao students.
The opening of the China-Laos Chuyi Academy represents a significant step in implementing the Joint Statement on Further Deepening the Building of a China-Laos Community with a Shared Future, and boosting cooperation in vocational education. It aimed to raise the international influence of Chinese vocational education, and make contributions to Belt and Road cooperation.
This is the first cooperation between the Pakpasak Technical College and the Changsha Social Work College, focusing on the new specialty of e-commerce, said Saysamone Ngamsy, director of Pakpasak Technical College. He believed that, the students will contribute to the rapid development of e-commerce in Laos after graduation, serving as a demonstration of the collaborative efforts to cultivate e-commerce talent between the two colleges.
The Changsha Social Work College began its collaboration with Laos in vocational education in 2018, proactively implementing and supporting the national opening up strategy. It has helped Laos develop three national-level vocational standards, two professional standards, and 32 curriculum standards, and trained 150 vocational education teachers from Laos.
