In order to enhance the resilience of the global supply chain and assist both Chinese and foreign enterprises in reducing costs and increasing efficiency, and conducting precise procurement and international cooperation, the 2024 Changsha International Procurement and High-end Industries and Business Matchmaking kicked off in Changsha on November 21. It is hosted by the Changsha Municipal People's Government and co-organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Changsha Branch and the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.
The event attracted 430 international purchasers, multinational corporations, and international business associations from 50 countries and regions. Among the attendees, more than 200 were enterprise executives, procurement managers and other responsible individuals. In addition, nearly 400 listed companies, hidden champions, and specialized, sophisticated, distinctive, and innovative enterprises from several key regions participated, including the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta region, and Pearl River Delta region.
At the conference, 205 international procurement demand orders were released, covering CNC machine tools, precision parts, laser cutting, precision molds, robots, semiconductors, and other fields. Additionally, a list of 145 Changsha application scenario demand items was presented, which involved industries such as construction machinery, automotive parts, electronic information, biomedicine, new energy materials, and other industrial fields. These releases aimed to provide precise services for both purchasers and suppliers participating in the event, facilitating proactive and effective communication between them.
During the event, Massimo Bagnasco, vice president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and chair of its Southwest China Chapter, delivered a speech. In his address, he emphasized that Changsha has consistently attracted a large amount of foreign investment in recent years, demonstrating its vital role in the economic growth strategy of central China. He expressed optimism about the prospects for cooperation with provincial capitals such as Changsha and other cities in central China. He stated that the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China aims to build bridges for more collaboration between Chinese and European enterprises, promoting deeper international cooperation.
Complementarity and international cooperation are widely recognized as important principles within the global business community. International procurement and cost reduction aimed at enhancing efficiency are common objectives for numerous domestic and international enterprises. The market in central China and the Changsha industry play crucial roles in the advanced manufacturing ecosystem. In his speech, Gao Wenqi, vice mayor of the Changsha Municipal People's Government, stated that hosting the 2024 Changsha International Procurement and High-end Industries and Business Matchmaking is a significant measure to align with international economic and trade trends and industrial development. Changsha will adopt an even more open attitude towards the global market, emphasizing institutional innovation and service optimization to continuously enhance the convenience of international trade and investment. The city aims to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the global business community, fostering resource sharing, industrial connectivity, and mutually beneficial collaboration.
The conference has also featured global procurement trend analyses, promotions of Changsha's industries, international procurement and supply representative roadshows, and face-to-face matchmaking between supply and demand enterprises, further ensuring precise and efficient alignment of production and sales needs.
On November 22, following the main event, international purchasers and suppliers will participate in a series of in-depth matching sessions tailored to mutual supply and demand and their willingness to engage. These sessions will include specialized meetings on digital and intelligent applications and industrial AI modules, green and low-carbon development and new energy storage modules, as well as integral manufacturing, precision machining, and component modules.
