Background Information
Xu Xiake, a famous traveler and geographer in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), wrote the masterpiece "Travels of Xu Xiake" to document every step of his travels around the country. "Travels of Xu Xiake" is the first geographical masterpiece written in the form of travel notes. It records the terrain, landform, folk customs and social life of many places.
