A China-Laos fixed-schedule freight train pulled out of the Huaihua West Station on December 19. Fully loaded with NEVs, cables, motorcycle accessories, and other products, it will arrive in Vientiane, Laos, in three days.

The Huaihua International Land Port has achieved a new breakthrough in transport mode this year. The China-Laos fixed-schedule freight train service has increased its frequency from one to three trains every week, and dovetailed with the Hunan-Yunnan Lancang-Mekong Express which further enlarged the freight volume. The role of the China-Laos Railway as a "golden channel" for international logistics is becoming increasingly prominent.

A steady flow of electrical machinery, rice husking machines, and components of construction machinery have been exported to Southeast Asia, while cassava starch, ores, and other commodities imported from Laos and Thailand increased steadily.

So far this year, 3,734 TEUs of cassava starch have been imported through the Huaihua International Land Port, soaring 356% over last year, with a total value of 150 million CNY. A Huaihua-based cassava starch dispatching center has taken shape.

According to the provincial commercial department statistics, during the January-November period, the Huaihua-ASEAN freight train service has completed 924 trips, surging 129.85% year on year. The value of cargos amounted to about 5.412 billion CNY, up 176.83%.

On the same day, a batch of Liling-made porcelain products were loaded onto freight trains at the Liling South Railway Station. They would be transported via the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal transport service to Shenzhen Port, and then shipped to Australia, South Africa, and Kenya.

The Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal transport service operates a southward export channel of Hunan Province, featuring the largest freight volume and the shortest transportation time. Between January and November, it has handled 986 trips, increasing by 70.88%, and transported 13.361 billion CNY of cargos, a year-on-year growth of 84.44%.

Northwards, Hunan's China-Europe freight train service stands at the forefront nationally in terms of freight volume. Eastwards, the Yueyang Chenglingji Port has secured its position as a "one-million-TEU hub port on the Yangtze River". Southwards, the freight trains serving the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal transport are launched from Zhuzhou, Hengyang, and Chenzhou toward Africa. Westwards, the Huaihua-ASEAN freight train service has paced up to integrate into the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Upwards, flights can transport passengers from Changsha airport to 160 domestic and overseas destinations within only four hours.

The five international logistics channels have jointly opened multi-dimensional export accesses for inland Hunan, pushing Hunan to go global and injecting strong impetus to its high-quality opening up.

In the first 11 months, Hunan's import and export volume amounted to 512.19 billion CNY. Among them, exports hit 300.34 billion CNY, while imports increased by 10% to 211.85 billion CNY, hitting a new high compared with the same period in previous years. Hunan's foreign trade with African countries reached 47.3 billion CNY, topping the central and western regions of China.
