Changsha Listed as China's Happiest City for 17 Consecutive Years

The Happiest Cities Forum 2024, hosted by the Oriental Outlook magazine of the Xinhua News Agency, was held in Shanghai on December 20, 2024. Changsha was listed as one of the happiest cities in China for 2024, holding the title for the 17th consecutive year. Changsha County, and Liuyang and Ningxiang county-level cities won the title of the happiest county-level cities.

The selection of the happiest cities in China has been held every year since 2007. Themed "Reform and Innovation for a Happier City Life", the 2024 forum focuses on the decisions and arrangements made at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee to further deepen reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization. It takes urban residents as the primary participants, emphasizing the collective effort in building people-centered cities and creating a happy life. It surveys and analyzes the people's sense of gain, happiness, and security in Chinese cities in the process of modernization, showcasing the innovative measures and remarkable achievements made by these cities in promoting people's well-being.
