A hustle-and-bustle scene was seen in the customs supervision area of the Huaihua International Land Port on the morning of December 31, 2024.

Freight train X9689 pulled out of the Huaihua West Marshalling Station at 3:00 on the morning of January 1. It was the first fixed-schedule China-Laos freight train to leave from the Huaihua International Land Port in the new year. This marked that the Huaihua International Land Port has opened a new chapter of freight train service in the year of 2025.

This train was fully loaded with 70 TEUs of home appliances and agricultural mechanical equipment, such as hay mower accessories, air conditions, and stereos, worth 11.968 million CNY in total. These goods were produced in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan area, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta. This train will arrive in Vientiane, Laos, after a three-day trip along the China-Laos Railway.

In recent years, the Huaihua International Land Port has been committed to promoting thorough and substantial implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative while integrating into the national strategy of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. In 2024, it has handled 1,009 freight trains, with a total transportation volume of more than one million tonnes. The total value of goods reached nearly six billion CNY, soaring 219% year on year.

The Huaihua International Land Port is moving towards all-round opening up by building connections with other countries over land and sea while creating synergy between its eastern and western regions.
