According to Changsha Customs data, Hunan Province exported fireworks and firecrackers worth 4.84 billion CNY in 2024, an increase of 10.1% over the previous year, accounting for 58.6% of the national total export of fireworks and firecrackers.

With the Spring Festival approaching, workers in Liuyang are busy producing fireworks.

Liuyang's creative combination of drones and fireworks have been spotlighted worldwide, winning vast numbers of orders at home and abroad. These products integrate traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technologies favored by consumers and purchasers.

Compared with previous years, Hunan's fireworks and firecrackers export destinations have changed in 2024. Exports to the emerging consumer countries in Southeast Asia and South American markets grew sharply. Data shows that in 2024, Hunan's exports of fireworks and firecrackers to Vietnam and Cambodia saw substantial growth. The value of fireworks exported to Vietnam reached 19.37 million CNY, a 23-fold increase, while the value exported to Cambodia reaching 16.26 million CNY, a 7-fold increase. Exports to South America amounted to 210 million CNY, representing a growth of 16.5%.

The U.S. remains the largest market for Hunan's exported fireworks and firecrackers. The total export to the U.S. stood at 1.7 billion CNY in 2024, increasing by 28.1% year on year.

With a decreasing inventory and a booming market demand in the U.S., Liuyang's fireworks businesses are seeing a good momentum of orders from U.S. buyers. It is expected that fireworks exports to the U.S. will continue to be robust this year.

Thanks to the launch of direct shipping routes to South America, Hunan's fireworks can be sent directly to ports in Ecuador, significantly enhancing customs clearance efficiency and greatly shortening transportation time. In 2024, exports of fireworks to Peru, Guatemala, and Brazil reached 79.18 million CNY, 80.06 million CNY, and 25.52 million CNY respectively, rising 55.1%, 41.6%, and 59.4%.
