The National Development and Reform Commission recently issued a document to determine the layout of 14 China-Europe freight train assembly centers across the country, in an effort to accelerate the formation of a "core hub + support bases" efficient collection and distribution network system. Changsha was among the 14 China-Europe freight train assembly centers.

Changsha has handled more than 1,000 China-Europe freight trains annually in the last four years, with the scale standing at the national forefront for six consecutive years. In recent years, Changsha has developed several high-quality China-Europe freight train routes, including the "Changsha-Moscow" and "Changsha-Budapest" lines, as well as trains dedicated to transporting products from the manufacturing sector such as automobiles and construction machinery. The city has operated more than 5,500 China-Europe freight trains along 15 routes, reaching 30 countries and regions in Asia and Europe. Thanks to these trains, an increasing number of local products from Hunan are now "going global".
Being approved as an assembly center for China-Europe freight trains, Changsha will be given preferential treatment in terms of infrastructure, transport capacity planning, arrangement of shipments, customs clearance facilitation, overseas warehouse construction, and other aspects. This will improve the quantity and quality of China-Europe (Changsha) freight trains, and further smooth the province's international logistics channels, and effectively reduce the logistics cost of the whole society.
