The 2025 Hunan Health Work Conference on Medical Emergencies, Pharmaceutical Policies, and Foreign Affairs was held on February 26. On behalf of the Hunan Provincial Health Commission (HPHC), Chang Shi, HPHC deputy director, and Cao Yuebin, HPHC second-level inspector, presented the first batch of certificates of "Hunan Foreign Language Reserve Talent in Medical Sector" to 17 recipients.Recommended by various units, this year a total of 49 individuals from 35 medical institutions were selected as the "Hunan Foreign Language Reserve Talent in Medical Sector." Among these, fourteen were from municipal-level medical institutions in Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Shaoyang.This year's selection covered a wider range of foreign languages than previous years, including English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, French, and German. The selection aimed to establish a talent pool management mechanism that features regular evaluations and dynamic upgrades, urging foreign language talents to maintain their professional competitiveness at all times.In recent years, the Hunan Provincial Health Commission has actively identified and cultivated foreign language talents in the medical field in the province. The commission has also encouraged and guided various medical and health institutions to conduct foreign language competitions. A diversified talent pool has developed to meet the challenges of globalization and the sources of talent has been broadened to strengthen the grassroots foundation for the medical field. A pattern of foreign language reserve talents has been established.
