Changsha Municipal Leaders Participate in Voluntary Tree-planting Activity

On February 27 morning, Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee; Zhou Haibing, vice governor of Hunan Province and mayor of Changsha City; and, other in-service municipal leaders, together with the cadres and masses, took part in a centralized voluntary tree planting campaign at a tree-planting site near Furong South Road, Tianxin District, Changsha.

At the tree-planting site, Secretary Wu Guiying and Mayor Zhou Haibing, together with young volunteers, Chinese Young Pioneers members and government officials, took part in shoveling soil, earthing up, and watering, while planting various seedlings including osmanthus, waxberry, cherry, red maple, and Chinese tallow tree. During the break, they conversed with the young pioneers, inquiring about their studies, lives, labor, and exercise. They expressed their hopes that children will take root like saplings, growing towards to become the backbone of the country.
