Chinese Companies Tap into Global Waste Disposal Market

A Chinese corporation signed a framework agreement on waste technology disposal with Osh, the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan, in central China's Changsha City on Monday.They agree that Junxin Environmental Protection (Kyrgyzstan) Investment Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection Co., will initially process 2,000 metric tons of waste daily.Junxin could scale up its project based on waste collected and handled by the Osh municipal government, including building a green power center, heating center, and computing power center, according to the agreement.The computing power center will use green electricity and steam cooling to reduce energy consumption. The project will turn waste into resources,and provide green power, heat, and computing services, improving the local environment.Dai Daoguo, chairman of Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. said that in 2024, the company invested in a waste disposal and power generation project in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which is expected to put into operation by the end of 2025. More Chinese companies are expanding into overseas waste disposal market, initiating projects in Vietnam, New Zealand, Thailand, the Maldives, and Uzbekistan.
