Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in western Hunan has captivated global attention for its distinctive historical and cultural legacy, breathtaking natural landscapes, and unique folk customs. There are a number of iconic landmarks, including Fenghuang Ancient Town, a famous historic and cultural place; Aizhai Bridge, the world's longest-spanning bridge over a valley; and, Furong Town, a millennium-old town hanging on the edge of a waterfall. Various forms of intangible cultural heritage rooted in Xiangxi manifest the wisdom and creativity of the locals, such as the Tujia hand-swinging dance and Miao silver ornament-making skills.

Sherry Yuan, Xiangxi tourism promotion envoy and chairwoman of the Hunan-Australia Development Association, addressed the event, saying that the event marks the launch of "'Mysterious Xiangxi' Arrives in Australia," and also inaugurates the 2025 Xiangxi-Australia parent-child study tour, photography art tour, and economic and trade investigation tour.
