Hunan Owns Over 120,000 Valid Invention Patents

A working conference on Hunan's intellectual property rights was held on March 10. According to the conference, the number of valid invention patents in Hunan Province has exceeded 120,000.

In 2024, Hunan has made solid progress in building itself into an intellectual property powerhouse in line with the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" strategy. By the end of 2024, Hunan owned 121,300 valid invention patents, including 46,600 high-value ones, marking an 18.52% year-on-year increase. Throughout the year, 20,700 patents have been transferred and 8,670 patents licensed. The added value of patent-intensive industries reached 593.848 billion CNY.

In 2024, Hunan had a number of cases recognized as national model cases in such areas as intellectual property powerhouse construction, patent industrialization, administrative protection of patents, and diversified mediation of intellectual property disputes. The province has also achieved fruitful results, winning two China Patent Gold Awards and three China Patent Silver Awards.
