Vice Governor Wang Meets with ADB Guests

Wang Junshou, vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Scott Morris, vice president of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), on March 21, 2025.

Vice Governor Wang welcomed the guests. He noted that ADB has been cooperating with Hunan for more than 30 years, providing strong support for the development of ecological environment, agriculture, and rural affairs in the province. He expected the two sides to launch in-depth collaboration on the comprehensive treatment of the Dongting Lake ecological environment and other major projects. We may explore more practices in building a strong ecological security barrier and in the intensive and efficient use of resources, to set a Hunan sample of green finance in the country and even in Asia, he added.

Scott Morris remarked that ADB has implemented 30 loan and grant projects in Hunan, with a contracted value of 2.047 billion USD, laying a solid foundation for cooperation. He hoped that Hunan will take the South Dongting Lake wetland ecological restoration and sustainable development project as a starting point, to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with ADB in such areas as green and low-carbon development and biological diversity protection, jointly exploring more innovative ideas and methods.
